It all comes down to this for The Miami FC as they enter this match clinging on to the 8th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Just one point separates them between the team in 9th so a victory against Sacramento is absolutely needed to secure their spot to the postseason.
Sacramento kicked off the match looking like the more dangerous side and not the start that Miami would want to have. The South Florida side did play their style dominating possession but their back line was being constantly tested.
The score would be 0-0 at the half as both teams headed to the dressing room. Miami knew that dropping any points in this match was not an option. A heartbreaking moment would arrive in the 69th minute when Sacramento got a header that ended up in the back of the net making it 1-0.
That would be the only goal in this match as Sacramento Republic would go on to defeat Miami 1-0 ending their hopes and dreams of making the playoffs.
The 2023 season for The Miami FC has come to a heartbreaking end as the team fought so hard for the fans to make the playoffs. The South Florida side will return in 2024 looking to earn a spot when they go again.
