Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics
The second game of the season on opening week is a road game for the Heat visiting the TD Garden where the Heat were crowned Eastern Conference champions. They faced the Boston Celtics who looked eager and hungry for revenge not forgetting what just happened at the end of last season. The Celtics opened the season on the road defeating the New York Knicks 108-104.
Derrick White was once again a problem for the Miami Heat as he scored 28 points which included five three pointers. This contribution helped the Celtics improve to 2-0 with the 119-111 victory over the Heat.
The dynamic duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were on display as well as Brown went for 27 points and 6 rebounds as Tatum completed his night with 22 points. The Heat and Celtics have met in the conference finals the last three of four seasons.
White would be the one to keep the Heat away as he scored 14 fourth quarter points as the Celtics shot around 50% on the night. Porzingis would struggle on the night as he would foul out in the 4th quarter leaving Boston's perimeter defense open.
There was six lead changes in this game as Miami opened the game strongly and fought all through the night. Bam Adebayo would have another big night with 27 points and 7 rebounds as Jimmy Butler would have a quiet night with just 14 points. Boy wonder Tyler Herro had an impressive performance with 28 points shooting five of Miami's 16 three pointers.
Kevin Love gave Miami a chance to zero in on the Celtics with his three pointer with 59 seconds left in the game making it 114-111. Unfortunately, The Celtics were able to pull away sending their fans home happy on the night.
Next up for the Miami Heat is a continuation of the road trip facing the Minnesota Timberwolves.
