FIU vs Jacksonville State
Looking for win number five was the FIU Panthers trying to inch closer to a bowl appearance that has not happened since 2019. The Panthers would welcome Jacksonville State to the cage for an intimidating matchup. Historically, Jacksonville State has gotten the best of FIU in recent years.
QB Grayson James would enter the game for the Panthers in the third quarter beginning what was looking like to an epic comeback. The momentum would be ruined by a clear call that was butchered by the referees and would turn the tide in favor of Jacksonville State.
Jax State would start off the game with scoring on each of their first three possessions making it a 21-0 ballgame. With James behind the center, the Panthers were able to make it a 27-16 game in the third quarter.
James would finish the game 12 for 20 going for 200 yards plus a touchdown. QB Keyone Jenkins who got the start would end his day with two completions for 18 yards. WR Kris Mitchell would end his day with 109 yards and one touchdown.
For Jax State it was QB Zion Webb going for 105 yards in the air with a couple of touchdowns as well as 9 of 19 passing. Webb would also rush for 125 yards on 20 carries.
The Gamecocks would get a couple more scores totaling it to a final score of 41-16 dropping the Panthers to 4-5 on the season and 1-5 in the conference.
