The Miami FC vs Louisville City

The Miami FC vs Louisville City

A four match losing streak with five matches left for The Miami FC who are trying to finish in the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They welcomed Louisville City to FIU Stadium who currently sit comfortably in 5th. In recent years, the Kentucky team has been a nightmare for the South Florida side and haven't been able to prevail against them.

The match kicked off with Louisville looking to close the door early on this match bringing intensity and pressure. Miami was managing but it seemed like any minute the team in purple would break through the defense and find an opener.

Indeed it would be Louisville City in the 15th minute which saw Sean Totsch win a header that found itself in the back of the net making it 1-0.

This seemed to energize this Miami team who are fighting for their lives to enter the postseason. They would respond in the 32nd minute with Christian Sorto finding the back of the net to equalize the match 1-1.

The second half would begin with Louisville imposing its will once again starting off on the right foot. The visiting team would capitalize in the 48th minute with Wilson Harris putting his team ahead 2-1. Miami would claw back once again not giving up equalizing the match 2-2 by a Joaquin Rivas goal in the 62nd minute.

Frustration would arrive in the 74th minute when Miami would give up a penalty due to a push from behind in the box. Louisville's Sean Totsch would earn himself a double nailing the penalty and taking the lead 3-2.

Just four minutes later the match would take another turn when Gabriel Cabral would equalize the match 3-3 for Miami in the 78th minute. You can tell how much Miami really wanted this by the fight they were putting in.

The drama ensued with the referee pointing at the spot for the second time in the match but this time in favor of Miami. Rivas would step up to the spot and secure the goal in the 86th minute giving his team the 4-3 lead.

Miami would hold on to secure all three points defeating Louisville City 4-3 and move just four points away from the final playoff spot with just four matches left in the regular season.

Next up for The Miami FC is a road match visiting Birmingham Legion at the weekend.
