Miami Dolphins vs New England Patriots

Miami Dolphins vs New England Patriots

Another test on the road for the Miami Dolphins arrived week two after taking down the Los Angeles Chargers in dramatic fashion at SoFi Stadium. This time Miami would be visiting its AFC East rivals the New England Patriots for the first time this season. The Patriots enter the matchup 0-1 after a close loss to the Philadelphia Eagles but should never be taken lightly.

Sunday Night Football would not disappoint with this AFC East matchup with Miami getting the best of New England in recent years. Miami QB Tua Tagavailoa would have the chance to go 5-0 in his career against the Patriots. Tyreek Hill after the game would say that the New England fans are the worst he's ever faced.

Tagavailoa would go for 249 yards and one touchdown but it was RB Raheem Mostert who would be showing off on Sunday Night Football. Mostert would run for 121 yards and two touchdowns in which New England had no answer for all night.

We all know how these divisional games go and down two possessions the Patriots did not give up and would attempt to mount a comeback. Mac Jones would go for 231 yards and one touchdown looking good down the stretch but it would not be good enough.

It came down to a fourth down play with New England trailing Miami 24-17 with just 38 seconds remaining in the ball game. Jones would target Mike Gesicki who would be just short before he throws a lateral to an offensive lineman who is pushed forward seeming like he picked up the first down. After video review he was just inches short giving Miami the chance to run the clock out and improve to 2-0 on the season after the 24-17 victory.

Next up for the Miami Dolphins is a home game welcoming the Denver Broncos to Hard Rock Stadium at the weekend.
