Inter Miami CF vs Toronto FC

Inter Miami CF vs Toronto FC

It was a smiles and a sigh of relief for Inter Miami CF fans when news broke that Lionel Messi would be back in the starting lineup after a disastrous weekend in Atlanta without him. They also would welcome Toronto FC the only other team worse than them in the league this season with points needed to be won in the chase for the playoffs.

The first opening minutes of the match would take that smile and relief off the faces of Miami fans when Messi and Jordi Alba would have to be subbed off due to apparent injuries. Both players will have to miss the upcoming match against rivals Orlando City who currently sit second in the Eastern Conference. It will be a difficult match without their star player as they desperately need points.

The Herons would strike first in this match with Noah Allen sending in a cross that would be punched out by the Toronto keeper. The clearance would only find Farias who connected with a wonderful volley that would find the back of the net for 1-0.

He was missed during the weekend and that would be Robert Taylor who would join in on the fun during the first half. Allen would find Taylor at the edge of the box who would take it to his right beating defenders and delivering a shot across the face of goal and would end up in the back of the net to make it 2-0 for the home side.

Substitutes Leonardo Campana and the youngster Benjamin Cremaschi would have some fun of their own in the 73rd minute. Cremaschi would find Campana near midfield with the Argentine going for a long sprint down field with Campana hitting him with a perfectly times through ball that gave Cremaschi the shot on goal similar to Taylor's whipping it across the face of goal to make it 3-0.

The Finnish star would earn a brace in the 87th minute with the assist coming from Farias. Taylor once again would get a shot off from the right side of the box which ended up going into the roof of the netting to make it 4-0. Inter Miami CF would defeat Toronto FC 4-0 and close the gap to five points for the final playoff spot.

Next up for Inter Miami CF is a road match at the weekend visiting rivals Orlando City.
