Miami Marlins vs New York Mets
Another South Florida team that is in a desperation mode for wins in order to make the playoffs is the Miami Marlins. They put on a show at the weekend sweeping the NL East Champion Atlanta Braves putting them back into a Wild Card spot but need to continue that form with just eight games remaining in the season. They welcomed NL East rivals the New York Mets to loanDepot Park for a three-game series.
Game 1: Marlins 1-2 Mets
Edward Cabrera vs Jose Butto
Jeff McNeil hits tie-breaking homer in the 9th to give the Mets the series opening 2-1 victory.
Game 2: Marlins 4-3 Mets
Braxton Garrett vs Joey Lucchesi
Walk-off for the Marlins provided by Jake Burger in the bottom of the 9th making the series even with a 4-3 victory.
Game 3: Marlins 3-8 Mets
Eury Perez vs Kodai Senga
Senga goes six innings as well as Mark Vientos homering twice to give the Mets the 8-3 victory and series victory.
Next up for the Miami Marlins is a weekend home series welcoming the Milwaukee Brewers to loanDepot Park.
