Miami Marlins vs Washington Nationals
The Miami Marlins have now fallen three games behind the final Wild Card spot with October fast approaching. A tough schedule for Miami especially with the recent NL West road trip being detrimental to Miami. There is still hope for the Marlins but that hope must arrive and must arrive fast as we've said before the light is closing at the end of the tunnel. The Fish welcomed NL East rivals the Washington Nationals to loanDepot Park this weekend.
Game 1: Marlins 4-7 Nationals
Braxton Garrett vs Joan Adon
Don pitched scoreless innings plus a six-run built lead from Washington gives them the series opening 7-4 victory.
Game 2: Marlins 2-3 Nationals
Eury Perez vs Jake Irvin
A wild pitch in the 9th gives the Nationals the series win and the 3-2 victory.
Game 3: Marlins 2-1 Nationals
JT Chargois vs Trevor Williams
Jorge Soler hits his 35th homer of the season to avoid being swept and win the ballgame 2-1.
Next up for the Miami Marlins is a home series welcoming the Tampa Bay Rays to loanDepot Park.
