Inter Miami CF vs New York Red Bulls

26 points with 12 matches left in the season is the tall task that faces Inter Miami CF for the hopes of making the playoffs. Since Lionel Messi has joined the squad, the team has not lost and picked up the Leagues Cup as well as making the U.S. Open Cup final. Miami visited the New York Red Bulls to return to league play with Messi starting the match from the bench due to fatigue.

It was all defense from both sides through the first 30 minutes but it would be the visitors in pink to draw away in the 37th minute. Noah Allen regaining possession from a Red Bull clear would send the ball into the box finding Diego Gomez for a low shot to make it 1-0.

The opening of the second half would be highlighted by Drake Callender who's easily been Miami's best player this season. Callender came up with some crucial saves to keep Miami in the lead of the match 1-0.

The match changer would arrive in the 60th minute when Messi, Deandre Yedlin, and Sergio Busquets would enter the match for Leonardo Campana, Robert Taylor, and David Ruiz.

This match looked like it was going to go to a 1-0 final scoreline but the Argentine world cup winner had something to say about it. Messi magic struck Harrison, New Jersey in the 89th minute that would secure the +3 for Miami.

Jordi Alba would have a bicycle kick type pass to Messi in the center of the box with the Argentine playing a brilliant through ball to the right side finding Cremaschi with the youngster playing the ball back to the center to an unmarked Messi who taps it in for 2-0.

Inter Miami CF takes the +3 and moves up to 14th in the Eastern Conference surpassing Toronto FC.

Next up for Inter Miami CF is a midweek matchup on the road at GEODIS Park facing Nashville SC.
