The Miami FC vs San Antonio FC

The Miami FC vs San Antonio FC

The Miami FC enter a road trip after a hard fought point at home against Charleston Battery who sit at the top of the table. Miami takes to the west visiting San Antonio FC who are having a great season sitting second in the west. The Texas side last matchup was a friendly against English side Sunderland in which San Antonio lost 3-1.

San Antonio started the match feeding off the energy from the home crowd at Toyota Field. This gave the Texas side energy and momentum pushing ear on in the match. Miami's defense were able to overcome the spurt of momentum and maintain its line.

Totoya Field was shocked and silenced in the 7th minute following a goal from Miami's Ryan Telfer making it 1-0 for the visitors. Telfer received a ball in the penalty area and put it in the bottom corner with no hesitation.

The match then became a nail biting affair with both clubs going back and fourth on the offensive searching for goals. San Antonio turned it up a level trying to find an equalizer but Miami's defense remained poised and calm. Miami also had great counter attacking opportunities but couldn't double the lead.

Emotions ran high on the pitch with a red card being shown to Miami sending them down to 10 players. Despite that red card, Miami did not allow San Antonio to get back into the match which is something they've struggled with this season. Miami holds on to the 1-0 victory to earn the +3 and are now three points away from a playoff spot.

Next up for The Miami FC is a road trip to the D.C. area facing Loudoun United at the weekend.
