The Miami FC vs Charleston Battery

The Miami FC vs Charleston Battery

Back to FIU Stadium and the drawing board for The Miami FC after a midweek loss to FC Tulsa on the road. They welcomed the Charleston Battery who come off another road match with a 1-1 draw against Indy Eleven. The visitors currently sit 3rd in the Eastern Conference while Miami currently sits 11th in the table.

The Miami offense started on the attack with high intensity putting the Charleston defense under pressure but they did a great job maintaining discipline. This gave the home side trouble finding space in the box to get that final look towards goal.

The Battery would grow into this game building their plays and finding space through the midfield controlling possession. Counter attacks became a huge problem which looked like Charleston would break the deadlock at any moment.

The second half saw substitutions that brought a much needed refresher for Miami FC to take momentum out of their opponents. Towards the end of regulation you can tell Miami had taken over and now they were the ones that were close to finding the back of the net.

The goal arrived for Miami in the 83rd minute off of a rebound that would see Ben Mines slot it home for 1-0. The lead would not last long as Charleston found a way to equalize making it 1-1 until the end of the match. It was a hard fought point for Miami against a team that is sitting at the top of the table.

Next up for The Miami FC is a road trip visiting San Antonio FC at the weekend.
