Inter Miami CF vs St. Louis City

Inter Miami CF vs St. Louis City

Although the winless streak continues for Inter Miami CF, they did manage to get three hard fought draws but not enough to take them out of bottom position in the table. They continued the road trip for the last match before the Leagues Cup begins which will mark Lionel Messi's debut. Miami visited CityPark taking on expansion side St. Louis City.

The opening minutes consisted of both teams feeling each other out and growing into this match. The new expansion side would have a say in the 28th minute with a header from Samuel Adeniran to make it 1-0. Miami has been very poor in responding this season when they concede first.

Things got worse right before halftime for Miami with the hosts finding the back of the net once again doubling their lead. Another header this time from Tim Parker would make the match 2-0 heading into the dressing room.

Ian Fray almost brought one back for Miami by St. Louis cleared before the ball was able to clear the goal line. Aside from Miami's attacking issues, being slim due to injuries hasn't helped this season and with 12 matches left in the regular season, it will be tough for Messi to turn this around at least this year.

Definitely to be nominated MLS goal of the week came in the 80th minute from Eduard Löwen. A set piece that went over the wall and over Drake Callender found the net for a 3-0 lead. The set piece marked game, set, match giving the home side all +3.

Next up for Inter Miami CF is a home match welcoming Cruz Azul to DRV PNK Stadium to commence the Leagues Cup.
