Inter Miami CF vs D.C. United

Inter Miami CF vs D.C. United

Fight and spirit despite various injuries has been the story for Inter Miami CF in the last two weeks. Miami were able to pull off draws against both Austin and Columbus at home but still yet to find a victory since May 18th. They would hit the road visiting the nations capital squaring off against D.C. United at Audi Field.

The injury bug would strike again for the Herons in the 29th minute of this match. Israel Boatwright would have to sub off Stefanelli who would be stretchered off the field. This leaves Miami having to rely on just homegrown talent with this very thin roster.

United would have many chances but would squander them with either terrible shots or saves by Drake Callender who by far is Miami's best player this season.

In the second half it would be Benjamin Cremaschi who would earn his first ever Miami and MLS goal at the 59th minute. The Argentine would receive a pass from Robert Taylor at the top of the box and picking out the lower corner for 1-0.

It didn't take long for the home side to respond in which Miami has struggled to keep opponents at bay when scoring first. Taxi Fountas would have a beautiful goal in the 65th minute wrapping his foot around one for a curler to make it 1-1.

Another milestone would be mad on a set piece that saw the homegrown talent Noah Allen send a free kick through the box that would end up in the back of the net. That would be his first career goal giving the visitors the 2-1 lead.

United's subs in the 76th minute with their first touches of the match in the 77th minute would connect on a cross to make it a 2-2 match continuing this crazy second half.

D.C. and Miami would split the points with the 2-2 draw which marks three straight draws for the Herons as the winless streak continues.

Next up for Inter Miami CF is a road match at the weekend visiting expansion side St. Louis City.
