The Miami FC vs San Diego Loyal
The Miami FC entered this match coming off a 3-1 loss on the road to Louisville City while sitting 7th in the Eastern Conference. They licked their wounds and regrouped at home welcoming the San Diego Loyal with a chance to get back on track. Meanwhile San Diego entered FIU Stadium coming off a 3-2 loss at home at the hands of Rio Grande Valley.
As per usual we saw Miami FC starting the match out with that high intensity and press that would go on to give them a good match offensively. Koke Vegas the goalkeeper for the Loyal was forced into action early on in the match with Miami threatening. In the 15th minute Miami would find their breakthrough off of a deflection from San Diego's Grant Stoneman to put the home side up 1-0.
The goal from Miami would wake up San Diego's attack and start to put more pressure on the home side as the first half rolled on. They found the equalizer in the 39th minute with Evan Conway squaring the ball away off of a rebound from a previous shot. Both teams would head into the dressing room with the match all knotted up 1-1.
A counter attack in the 60th minute would see Kyle Murphy score a fantastic goal for the home side giving them the lead once again making it 2-1. The back end of this second half would be detrimental to The Miami FC.
San Diego Loyal would find an equalizer in the 81st minute from a cross inside the box to make it a 2-2 match. A corner kick would decide the match with Elliott Collier firing a shot in the box to the bottom corner to give his team the lead 3-2.
Miami has struggled with maintaining leads and conceding goals late as San Diego comes from behind to secure the 3-2 victory. With the loss The Miami FC falls one spot from 7th to 8th in the Eastern Conference which is the last playoff spot.
Next up for The Miami FC is another home match welcoming Orange County at the weekend.
