The Marlins homestead continued as they welcomed NL East rivals the Washington Nationals who put up a good fight against the New York Mets at the weekend. The Fish weren't as lucky at the weekend only taking one of three against fellow national league member the Cincinnati Reds. NL East division matchups are extremely important for the Marlins as they continue to try to catch up to the Atlanta Braves in first.

Jorge Soler hits a walk-off two-run HR to escape defeat and give the Marlins the 5-4 victory to open the series.
Game 2: Marlins 4-3 Nationals

Second straight day with a HR for Jorge Soler giving the Marlins another one run victory with a 4-3 final score.
Game 3: Marlins 5-3 Nationals
Eury Perez vs Trevor Williams
Eury Perez earns his first MLB victory in his career helping Miami sweep the Nationals with a 5-3 victory making it four straight wins for the Fish.
Next up for the Miami Marlins is a 10-game road trip beginning with a visit to the San Francisco Giants.
