The Miami FC vs Birmingham Legion

The Miami FC vs Birmingham Legion

The Miami FC seems to be finding their stride as of late despite the loss in the U.S. Open Cup and draw in Oakland. Those results don't do it any justice with the type of performances the team has been putting in lately. With these recent results, Miami has been climbing up the table in the Eastern Conference. What makes this match more impressive is that the Birmingham Legion are currently sitting first in the Eastern Conference.

It was an absolute dominant performance by The Miami FC at FIU Stadium against the conference leaders Birmingham. Just two minutes into the game it was Christian Sorto off of a set piece to take the early lead 1-0. This would set the tone for the rest of the match leaving Birmingham shocked and quite frankly the rest of the league.

In the 15th minute it would be another set piece goal from the corner flag with Aedan Stanley adding his name to the scoresheet to make it 2-0. Down two goals 15 minutes in the alarm bells were ringing for Birmingham.

In the the 70th minute it was Dennis Dowouna who would tack on to the lead for Miami making it a 3-0 game. This would pretty much be the dagger in the heart but Birmingham would not go away quietly into the sunset.

Birmingham would get one back making it a 3-1 lead but there wouldn't be enough time for the Legion to gain more momentum. The upset would be complete with Miami taking down the conference leaders 3-1 to earn +3 moving the home side into 4th in the Eastern Conference.

Next up for The Miami FC is a road match on May 13th visiting Louisville City FC.
