Miami Marlins vs Chicago Cubs
Back at loanDepot Park for the Marlins returning from a difficult four-game series against the Braves where they were only able to grab one to avoid being swept. They welcomed the Chicago Cubs who come off a series win against a very talented San Diego Padres team. This is the first time the Cubs and Marlins meet this season.
Game 1: Marlins 3-2 Cubs
Jesus Luzardo vs Marcus Stroman
On flashback Friday it was Jean Segura who would deliver with a game winning single giving Miami the 3-2 walk off victory.
Game 2: Marlins 7-6 Cubs
Edward Cabrera vs Caleb Kilian
An explosive first inning saw the Marlins pour on five runs with the Cubs hitting back with a response. Jesus Sanchez would put an end to the Chicago comeback with a two-run double giving Miami the 7-6 victory and series win.
Game 3: Marlins 4-3 Cubs
Bryan Hoeing vs Justin Steele
Garrett Hampson for Miami and Cody Bellinger for Chicago would add runs for their team in this game making it competitive and bringing it down to the wire. Luis Arraez would be the difference with a sacrifice fly in the 8th giving the Marlins the 4-3 victory and series sweep of Chicago.
Next up for the Miami Marlins is a home series at loanDepot Park welcoming in the Atlanta Braves.
