Inter Miami CF vs CF Montreal

Inter Miami CF vs CF Montreal

Two of the league's struggling teams this season being Inter Miami CF and CF Montreal faced off at the Stade Saputo for the second time this season. The first meeting was on opening day which saw Miami open the season with a victory. Both of these teams currently sit in the bottom half of the Eastern Conference table desperately looking for victories.

The pressure continues to mount on Miami's Phil Neville after a run of three victories in league play they're back to a new losing streak. The offense once again struggled in this match on the road with the best opportunity arriving 30 minutes in for the visiting team. Leonardo Campana and Robert Taylor combined on multiple plays but would have them saved. Both teams would head to the lockeroom tied up 0-0 at the half.

Former Miami man Ariel Lassiter who was involved in a trade for Montreal's Kamal Miller would come back and haunt his former club in the second half. Lassiter from the left wing would cross in a ball finding the sliding Chinonso Offor to make it 1-0 to the home side.

Miami would turn up the pressure on Montreal after conceding with Franco Negri, Nicolas Stefanelli, and Benjamin Cremaschi all having chances. The Canadian backline and goalie were able to hold on and save those chances.

Cremaschi would have the best chance for the Herons in the 90th minute with his shot hitting the post ensuing a Stefanelli rebound volley that would be cleared.

CF Montreal would hold on for the 1-0 victory sending Miami to 15th in the Eastern Conference which is dead last.

Next up for Inter Miami CF is a midweek matchup at home welcoming the New York Red Bulls to DRV PNK Stadium.
