Inter Miami CF vs Houston Dynamo
After a week break the pain still lingers from a current losing streak and to make matters worse, Miami hasn't been historically good on the road. They visited Shell Energy Stadium in Houston on Saturday night facing a Houston Dynamo team that has not lost at home this season. Worth mentioning is that Josef Martinez was dropped from the starting 11. New comers Dixon Arroyo and Kamal Miller would get the start joining Miami after a trade was made to send Bryce Duke and Ariel Lassiter to CF Montreal.
Miami started off the match with a perfect opportunity with Leonardo Campana getting his head on the ball but a remarkable quick reaction save from Steve Clark kept the two sides level. Clark with five saves on the night was a busy man in the first half as Franco Negri would fire off a shot hitting the post.
Houston's Franco Escobar received a cross in the 18 deciding to go for the first time volley but was denied by the flying Deandre Yedlin. If Yedlin did not make that challenge it looked like the volley was going straight on target but the question would be if it would have been able to get by Drake Callender.
The second half started out with the Dynamo applying pressure on that Miami back line. It was evident that at any moment the goal would be scored.
The goal would finally arrive in the 72nd minute with Corey Baird finding Daniel Steres who would put his shot at the back post out of the reach of Callender to make it 1-0.
This would be the 6th consecutive loss for Miami putting them tied for dead last with CF Montreal in the Eastern Conference.
Next up for Inter Miami CF is a midweek clash with The Miami FC in the third round of the U.S. Open Cup followed by a road trip visiting the Columbus Crew at the weekend.
