Inter Miami CF vs FC Dallas
Inter Miami CF returned to DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale with a now 4-match losing streak coming off a road to loss FC Cincinnati. Good news for the South Florida side, Leonardo Campana returned to the starting lineup for the first time this season. They welcomed FC Dallas who is in a similar situation as Miami this season.
To start this match it was a change to the lineup having Bryce Duke start and having Rodolfo Pizarro on the bench.
Once again it was Miami controlling the majority of the possession in this match but nothing to show for it in the final third. The defense and midfield who are really missing Gregore are doing anything they can to provide service but the strikers haven't stepped up to the plate this season. Campana returns from injury and was subbed off while meanwhile Josef Martinez continues to be an absence on the field.
Drake Callendar continues to be the driving force of this team and the reason they haven't conceded more this season especially in this first half against Dallas.
Callendar in the 27th minute could not continue to hold off the Dallas attack when a deflection in front of goal fell in front of the U.S. international Jesus Ferreira who put it away for 1-0.
The pressure in the second half from Inter Miami CF was immense with moments that seemed that Dallas could not hold on to this lead. A penalty was awarded in the dying moments of the match but after a look at VAR it was taken back and would be a free kick for the visitors.
It would be a 1-0 victory for FC Dallas extending the Miami losing streak to five with frustration mounting in the lockeroom. Campana, Martinez, and Pizarro all denied to speak to the media after the match. The road for the rest of April and May will certainly not get any easier as Miami now ties the Chicago Fire of the 90's with the longest losing streak. The Herons fall to 12th in the Eastern Conference.
Next up for Inter Miami CF is a road match visiting a Houston Dynamo team that has not lost at home this season.
