Inter Miami CF vs Chicago Fire

Inter Miami CF vs Chicago Fire

Inter Miami CF entered DRV PNK Stadium short handed without Leonardo Camapana, Robert Taylor, Robbie Robinson, and Josef Martinez due to injuries and international duty. They would have to get creative at the forward position. Miami welcomed the Chicago Fire who had yet to find a victory in the 2023 season.

To start this match it was evident that both defenses were giving up way too much space whenever the opponent was pushing forward. At the 30th minute it would be Chris Mueller to come back and haunt Miami's he did with his days in Orlando. Mueller was left all alone at the back post for a powerful shot that was unstoppable by Callender to make it 1-0.

Carlos Teran would add to the Chicago lead in the 38th minute making it 2-0 leaving DRV PNK Stadium quiet and stunned. For a while the South Florida side prided themselves on their home record and defending DRV PNK like a fortress. Right before the half ended it would be Negri with his first MLS goal and a beauty at that to cut the deficit 2-1.

The party continued in the second half with Stefanelli also earning his first goal to even the score at 2-2. The Fire have been known so far this season for blowing a lead and it was happening once again in front of our eyes with the momentum going Miami's way.

There would be a dagger in the heart for Miami fans. In the 90th minute it would be the substitute Kei Kamara with an almost mirror goal like Chicago's first goal with loads of wide open space at the back post unmarked. Kamara would make them pay and get the match winner 3-2.

This makes three straight losses for Inter Miami CF. Next up for the Herons is a road match visiting FC Cincinnati.
