The Miami FC vs Tampa Bay Rowdies
The Miami FC hit the road this weekend to start their postseason campaign in quest for a championship. It just had to be "them" didn't it heading into the first round. The South Florida side would face their arch nemesis in the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
There was much possession going to start the match for Miami but not a big threat level coming along with it. Kyle Murphy would score a header but would be called back due to a foul on the goalkeeper.
All Tampa would produce through the first half was a free kick that would hit the crossbar. Both teams would head to the dressing room all knotted up 0-0.
It was the Rowdies just five minutes after starting the second half with Sebastian Guenzatti getting a tap in rebound to pull his side ahead 1-0.
Strong response as you would expect from Miami in a playoff match equalizing just five minutes later with Joaquin Rivas taking advantage of a defensive mistake to make it 1-1.
It was a back and fourth fight because just four minutes later it was Law for Tampa striking from distance beating McGuire to make it 2-1 for the Rowdies. Sadly, Guenzatti would seal the deal scoring his second of the night making it 3-1.
The Tampa Bay Rowdies advance to the next round of the playoffs and for The Miami FC it is the end of the 2022 campaign.
