FIU earns first FBS win since 2019

This would be a redemption week for the FIU Panthers after an embarrassing loss to Western Kentucky by a final score of 73-0. One of the main storylines that has been haunting the Panthers is the fact that they have not won a game against an FBS school since 2019. Everyone predicted another loss against this New Mexico State team that has been struggling this season.

The first quarter would see QB Grayson James connect with WR Tyrese Chambers for a four-yard touchdown to make it 7-0.

Before ending the half it would be James finding Jalen Bracey on a 25-yard throw for the score followed by a 60-yard score from Lexington Joseph to head to the lockeroom 21-0.

The Aggies would get one on the board to make it 21-7 but would be shut down in all other aspects of the game throughout the night.

Grayson James would throw for three touchdowns on three consecutive possessions all occurring in the first half.

The Florida International QB would throw for 175 yards on the day and running for 43 yards with 18 carries.

This would end the FBS winless streak for the Panthers and advance them to 2-2 on the season and 0-1 in the conference.

Next up for FIU is their homecoming game at FIU Stadium welcoming in UCONN.
