The Miami FC vs New York Red Bulls II

The Miami FC vs New York Red Bulls II

Every match has importance and significance for The Miami FC as they wind down the 2022 campaign. Sitting in 6th place of the Eastern Conference is a place where you cannot afford to drop points. Miami traveled to the northeast to face the New York Red Bulls II.

Lamar Walker started this match off for Miami being the first one to threaten goal between the both sides. It would be New York that would leave Miami stunned in the opening minutes of the match. Jordan Adebayo-Smith would open the scoring and give the Red Bulls the 1-0 lead.

Joaquin Rivas would give Miami the equalizer in the 19th minute making it 1-1. It would be just seven minutes later that Rivas would get his second of the match and make it 2-1.

Kyle Murphy would find his name on the scoresheet after scooping up a loose ball to make it 3-1 followed by a penalty awarded by the referee. Murphy would slot it home giving the visitors the 4-1 advantage. Right before the half it would be the Red Bulls putting the ball in the wrong net giving Miami the 5-1 lead.

Things got from bad to worse for New York in the second half as Michael Knapp would pick up a red card leaving his team short handed. Fresh off the bench, Josh Perez and Christian Sorto would both score to tally the score up to 7-1. This would be the final score and what a thrashing it was for Miami to pick up major +3 on the road.

Next up for The Miami FC is a weekend home match welcoming in Atlanta United II.
