Miami Hurricanes vs Texas A&M
Well, what was anticipated as a great primetime game, turned out to be a low scoring, high
defensive, and long 3 hours. The Miami Hurricanes in this game were going down the field on
every drive but didn’t score a touchdown the entire game. Miami led in rushing yards, passing
yards, and first/third down conversations. Miami hurt themselves in this game by first, missing
a FG, having a FG blocked, no aggressive play calls, dropped passes by multiple receivers,
unnecessary penalties and to top it all off a muffed punt which was recovered by the Texas
A&M Aggies in the redzone and that gave them enough field position for a go ahead
touchdown. Miami’s defense played well all game holding an SEC team, the number one ranked
recruiting class of 2022 in College Station and they even recorded 3 sacks on the night. Miami
showed lots of promise on both sides of the ball, but they will need to address the receiving
issues if they intend on playing in the ACC Championship this year and winning. Next week,
Miami will host the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders, and I think Mario Cristobal should use this
game to create more chemistry between Tyler van Dyke and his extremely diminished receiving
core and improve on this defense that continues to get better after every game.
