The Miami FC vs Monterey Bay
One of the two final home games for The Miami FC was against cross conference opponents Monterey Bay. There was less stress on the home team as they have already qualified for the playoffs. Monterey Bay entered this match coming off a 3-3 draw with the Phoenix Rising.
Of course as a theme this season it was Miami dominating possession and getting the clear cut chances early on. Josh Pérez and Sorto had the best chances through 20 minutes but were not able to breakthrough the Northern California squads defense. Both teams would head to the dressing room at the end of the half all squared up 0-0.
Going into the second half we have more of the same from Miami. There wasn't any attacking threat from Monterey but they did hold on defensively. We would have chances from Florian Valot and Lamar Walker that would be saved from the visiting goalkeeper.
Monterey Bay would have two clear opportunities in what felt like was there only opportunities coming in the 77th minute. Jake McGuire would save a shot which came with a rebound shot in which he would also save to keep the score level.
Not much action in this match and that would be the final result all knotted up at 0-0 as The Miami FC and Monterey Bay split the points.
Up next for The Miami FC is the final home match of the season welcoming Memphis 901.
