Curry and the Warriors add another title to the dynasty

Curry and the Warriors add another title to the dynasty

With a minute left to play in game six of the NBA Finals, Warriors guard Stephen Curry let his
emotions take control. Teary-eyed knowing that he was back on top of the basketball world.
The Golden State Warriors have won the Larry O’Brien Trophy for the fourth time in eight years
after beating the Boston Celtics in six games. Golden State beat Boston on the road, 103-90, off
of Curry shooting for 34 points to cap off a career defining Finals series.
Game six started in favor for the Celtics, going up 10 early in the first quarter. The Warriors went
to another level to respond in the first half going 21-0 to take a double digit lead by halftime.
Boston looked devastated going into their locker room and seemed to never get out of their
offensive slump converting 22 turnovers to end the game. The Celtics never won a game this
postseason when they allowed more than 12.5 turnovers.
For Boston, they go into this offseason left to ponder on what could have been. As a young
group in the Celtics fought through what might have been the hardest road to the Finals this
year. Playing against incredible foes like Kevin Durant & the Brooklyn Nets, Giannis
Antetokounmpo’s Milwakuee Bucks and Jimmy Butler’s Miami Heat.
Celtics forward Jayson Tatum had a historic playoff run, going first in points and assists.
However, the ending was bittersweet for Tatum ,24, as he didn’t meet expectations as he
struggled to perform in this year & #39;s Finals.
Despite not giving up two straight losses throughout the month of May, the Celtics lost the last
three games to Golden State. Boston went from the 11th seed in the east in January to two
games away from the title.
The last Golden State championship was in 2018 as the Warriors swept the Cleveland Cavaliers
that year. Kevin Durant, who has won the last two Finals MVP's for the Warriors recent titles,
would not get another one for the Warriors. That honor belonged to Curry.
The four-time champion can now add Finals MVP to his resume as the Deputy Commissioner of
the NBA, Mark Tatum, handed Curry his well deserved Bill Russell Finals MVP Trophy after
averaging 31.2 points off of 48.2% shooting in this year's Finals.
With the Finals now over, NBA teams will now begin to start preparing for the upcoming
season. The NBA Draft will be on Thursday, June 23 at 8pm ET.
