Inter Miami CF vs Philadelphia Union
Inter Miami CF entered Subaru Park facing one of the top dogs in the east in the Philadelphia Union who once again this season are playing exceptionally well. Entering this match, the Union were short handed plus not having Miami loan signing Julian Carranza available to them due to a clause in the loan contract. Carranza has played very well with Philadelphia and has been a goal scorer for them which was eliminated from this match.
The first half consisted of various of chances from Alejandro Bedoya, Jakob Glesnes, and Daniel Gazdag but couldn't capitalize on their opportunities. Those players did not score for one reason and one reason only and that was Miami's GK Drake Callendar who earned himself man of the match. Callendar has really been in form and coach Phil Neville will continue to start him over Nick Marsman as he believes Drake has earned it.
The name Jack Elliott would be said frequently in the second half for Philadelphia as he missed two goal opportunities in the 55th and 65th minutes that could've easily given the Union a 2-0 lead. He would later show his defensive skills in the 72nd minute closing the gap for an open header to Miami. The Union would be shutout for the first time all season in which most would say because of their offensive threats missing from this one. The two teams would share the points at Subaru Park with a 0-0 draw.
Inter Miami CF will return to DRV PNK Stadium this weekend to host the New York Red Bulls.
