The Miami FC vs Tampa Bay Rowdies

It was an eventful week for The Miami FC with a 2-1 loss in league play against Colorado followed by a 3-0 victory in the second round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup against local side Miami United. We would find out later in the week that The Miami FC would be squaring off with their neighbors Inter Miami CF in the third round of the open cup.

Before they turn their focus to that match, they had to face their rivals in the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Throughout this match if you look at the statistic board the Rowdies were in control of almost every stat you can think of. It was a very uneventful match with a total of 25 fouls committed so you can see it was a very dirty game.

Both teams would enter the dressing rooms level at 0-0 with one yellow card being given to Miami's Paco Craig in the 32nd minute. Coming out of the half would be the only huge and impactful moment in this match with Miami's Pierre Da Silva putting the ball in the back of the net giving the South Florida side a 1-0 advantage in the 51st minute.

Eight total substitutions and three yellow cards would follow after the goal which would lead to the final whistle. Tampa would fail to convert after 66% ball possession and 15 shots being taken but only two of those were on target. Miami on the other hand only had seven shots which only three of those were on target. It was a tough deadlock road match but the blue and orange did just enough to get the victory and capitalize an important chance.

The Miami FC earn +3 and will be home next weekend to welcome Hartford Athletic.
