The Miami FC vs Phoenix Rising
This past weekend The Miami FC took a road trip out west to face the Phoenix Rising looking to make it a three-match winning streak. Meanwhile Phoenix was looking to add to their winning streak and make it a fourth.
In the 21st minute of play, the Rising were denied a header that was whipped in from the right side due to the line judge raising their flag for offsides. Responding right back was Miami in the 27th minute with a beautiful cross from the left side into the 18 finding the head of Joshua Perez to give Miami the advantage 1-0.
Right before heading into the dressing room for halftime the Arizona side would equalize the match with Jamaican defender Kevon Lambert putting one past Sparrow to make it a 1-1 match.
Coming out the gate in the second half, Miami would have a chance in the 49th minute which would be a one-on-one opportunity with the GK but would be kick saved by Ben Lundt.
What was looking to be a draw would turn into heartbreak as Phoenix midfielder Luis Seijas would fire a curler from far outside of the 18 that would find itself sneaking above Sparrow to make it 2-1 in the 88th minute. Phoenix Rising would earn all three points at home against Miami FC.
The Miami FC head home with the defeat and sitting in 7th of the Eastern Conference. They will face Memphis 901 on the road next.
