The Miami FC vs Hartford Athletic
The Miami FC has now paired themselves a string victories which included this weekends match against Hartford Athletic. For the first time in this young season, Hartford were kept scoreless as for Miami it was there second shutout.
Things got underway early at Riccardo Silva Stadium for Miami within the first 20 minutes with a shot from Kyle Murphy that would be saved by Hartford's goalkeeper Jimmy Slayton. Not long after the chance would come for Murphy receiving a ball from Paco Craig in which he was able to get by Slayton and slot it home to make it a 1-0 lead.
Athletic would fight back though having opportunities that would force Miami GK Connor Sparrow to be on his toes and ready. Miami as well 30 minutes in would hit the woodwork in a shot fired from 25 yards out by Pierre Da Silva.
This would be the last of chances for Hartford at the beginning of the second half with a header that fell wide on the back post. In the 87th minute Romeo Parkes would seal the deal for the South Florida side finishing an opportunity from the left putting it in the right corner of the net to make it 2-0.
Next up for The Miami FC is a third round match up in the U.S. Open Cup against MLS side Inter Miami CF.
