Inter Miami CF vs Seattle Sounders

Inter Miami CF vs Seattle Sounders

This match will be one to remember for all Inter Miami CF fans everywhere. Coming off a victory at home against the New England Revolution, this match on the road against the Seattle Sounders seemed out of reach. The 1-0 victory at Lumen Field is so far the biggest victory in franchise history.

The Seattle Sounders entered this match feeling fatigued after a midweek showdown in the CONCACAF Champions League in which saw players rested for this MLS match. On the other hand you have a Miami team sitting at the bottom of the table trying to grow their confidence after last weeks victory. We need to highlight as well that this was the homecoming for Miami defender Deandre Yedlin who started his career with Seattle.

The lone goal of this match would come in the 41st minute from Robbie Robinson in a half volley that would find the bottom right corner of the net. This would be Miami's first win outside of the Eastern time zone in franchise history.

Seattle would bring the heat in a stormy second half bringing on all of there star caliber players who were being rested for this match. That includes the likes of the Roldan brothers, Raul Ruidiaz, and Nico Lodeiro. The pressure was intense but the Miami defense was able to withstand it and seal the deal. The only real threat was a header clearance from Jamaican international Damion Lowe that went the wrong way which forced Nick Marsman to make an incredible save to protect the herons lead.

Inter Miami CF come home with all three points with a U.S. Open Cup match against Miami FC looming in the week.
