Inter Miami CF secured their first-ever MLS Cup title after defeating the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 at home at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. Their captain Lionel Messi was named MLS Cup MVP, thanks to two decisive assists one setting up the go-ahead goal for Rodrigo De Paul and the other sealing the win for Tadeo Allende in stoppage time. The win also marked a milestone for the club: and identity, Inter Miami has finally reached the summit of MLS.

The scoring opened via an own goal early in the match, giving Miami an initial lead but Vancouver equalized around the 60th minute. In the 71st minute, Messi's vision and quick thinking created a counterattack that De Paul finished putting Miami ahead for good. As full time approached, tensions rose from Vancouver pushing for an equalizer. But in the 96th minute, Messi once more found Allende, who scored to make it 3-1. That sealed the win and sent the home crowd into raptures.

Inter Miami becomes only the 8th different club in the past ten years to lift the MLS Cup underlining how competitive and open the league has become. For Messi, already a global superstar this is his first major U.S. based league trophy. It reinforces his legacy and shows that his move to Miami wasn't just about lifestyle: it was about winning. For the club and its fans: this is a watershed moment. After years of building, rehiring, and reimagining, Miami now stands among the champions of North American soccer. It could refine the club's identity, attract new talent, and elevate the local soccer culture.
