Belgian Grand Prix

 Belgian Grand Prix

We're one race away from the summer break and the race for the drivers championship is between the same team. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are battling it out as their competitors are far off with this being a two-horse race. In the constructors championship as well it's all McLaren with Ferrari surprisingly being in second despite poor results. This weekend took us to the famous Belgian Grand Prix at Spa with heavy rain in the forecast. Norris is looking to take his third straight grand prix victory which would put him ahead of Piastri in the table.

Norris made several mistakes in the opening lap which allowed Piastri to overtake him for the lead. Lewis Hamilton got driver of the day after starting P18 from pit lane and was able to fight all the way to P7 after impressive overtakes in the opening lap. His teammate Charles Leclerc spent the entire race keeping the defending world champion Max Verstappen at bay. Pierre Gasly once again finished in the points with Carlos Sainz having another tough race for Williams. Norris closed the gap at the end of the race to Piastri but ran out of laps to make it a battle. Piastri extends his lead over Norris in the championship but it's another one-two finish for McLaren.
