The Marlins take a divisional series over Atlanta

The Miami Marlins are sitting last in the NL East division but have found success this year against the Atlanta Braves. The Braves currently sit third in the division behind the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies. Atlanta entered this series coming off a big series win against the Mets and have not lost a series since the beginning of June which came against the San Francisco Giants. The Braves had a chance to make it four straight series wins.

Game 1: Marlins 6-2 Braves

Agustin Ramírez leads the Marlins to a series opening 6-2 victory after his three-run homer.

Game 2: Marlins 0-7 Braves

Ronald Acuna Jr goes off for two hits, walked twice, and rove in a run as the Braves shutout the Marlins 7-0.

Game 3: Marlins 5-3 Braves

Kyle Stowers had gone 31 games without a homer but ended the streak alongside six strong innings from Sandy Alcantara with Miami taking the series with the 5-3 victory.

Next up for the Miami Marlins is a road trip visiting the San Francisco Giants.
