Tough week for Inter Miami CF
Entering the week Inter Miami CF had only suffered one draw in league play on opening day against NYCFC but have gone on to win every other match in league play and in the CONCACAF Champions Cup. The matchup everyone wanted to see arrived in the quarter-finals of the Champions Cup with Miami having to face LAFC. The Herons would return home at the weekend to welcome Toronto FC who hasn't won a match since September of last year.
Inter Miami CF 0-1 LAFC:
With many celebrities in attendance at BMO Stadium it was a frustrating night for Lionel Messi. The 21-year old Nathan Ordaz who was very lucky not to be sent off earlier in the game put the black and gold up 1-0 sending it to the second leg in South Florida.
Inter Miami CF 1-1 Toronto FC :
The Herons entered this match as the clear favorites but would be shocked in the 45th minute with Federico Bernardeschi putting the Canadians up 1-0. Two goals were erased off the board for Miami due to VAR but would find the breakthrough just three minutes later from Messi making it 1-1. The match would hold this way dropping Miami from first to second in the Eastern Conference.
Up next for Inter Miami CF is a home match in the Champions Cup welcoming LAFC to Chase Stadium.
