Marc Leishman win LIV Miami
One week before the best golfing tournament in history The Masters over at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, the LIV Golf League takes its annual stop at Trump National Doral in Miami. It was the first event of the season in the United States. Dean Burmester from South Africa was the winner of last years event in a playoff duel with the Spaniard Sergio Garcia.
Day 1:
Patrick Reed had a strong start to the weekend finishing 5-under having a two-stroke lead. Reed found himself 4-under par going through the front nine which helped put him in the lead. Bryson DeChambeau got on the green with an impressive 670-yard par 5. Phil Mickleson also had a strong start in Miami putting up birdies on holes 6,7, and 8.
Day 2:
The weather was a factor throughout the weekend making the famous blue monster a very difficult task to conquer. Despite the wind, Marc Leishman was able to drain a birdie putt from the opposite side of the green. There was two eagles on the day coming from Bubba Watson and later on it would be Thomas Pieters. The legendary Mickelson made it on to sportscaster top plays for hitting a tremendous shot off of the cart path.
Day 3:
Sergio Garcia and Charl Schwartzel tried to bring a challenge to Marc Leishman but would not be able to keep up. Jon Rahm made a surge but it was not enough as well as DeChambeau having a tough final day. After a great weekend for Mickelson he was also not able to have a great final day. Garcia needed a birdie on 18 to force a playoff as he did last year but was not able to do so. Marc Leishman held on to win LIV Miami 2025.
With Leishman's victory he also helped his team the Rippers GC win the team event.
