Miami Heat vs Washington Wizards
It was a big night for Bam Adebayo as he becomes the franchise leader for the Miami Heat in double-doubles surpassing Ronnie Seikaly. The Heat come off a disappointing loss blowing a lead in what would've been a great victory over the New York Knicks. The Wizards enter this game after defeating the Charlotte Hornets 113-100. Miami currently sits 7th in the Eastern Conference with the Wizards sitting dead last with a 11-49 record.
The main man on the night was Adebayo alongside from making history would go ahead and finish the night with 19 points leading the way. Tyler Herro would follow Adebayo finishing the night with 16 points followed by Terry Rozier back in the starting lineup finishing with 15 points. Alec Burks seeing more minutes because of injuries would finish the game with nine points. Closing out the starting lineup for Miami was Kevin Love finishing with two points. Off the bench for the Heat it was Pelle Larsson and Duncan Robinson finishing the night with 16 and 17 points.
For the visiting Wizards it was newcomer Kris Middleton leading the way finishing the game with 16 points followed by Bub Carrington who finished with 14 points. Kyshawn George would check in next finishing the game with 10 points. Alex Sarr would contribute on the night driving home nine points and closing out the Washington lineup would be Bilal Coulibaly scoring just three points. Marcus Smart would lead the Wizards off the bench scoring eight points.
The Heat have a record of 8-14 through their last 22 games. Herro would hit a three-pointer that would put Miami ahead 50-31 with two minutes remaining in the second quarter making it a 14-3 run. Miami were able to shoot 47% while keeping the Wizards to just 36%. Keyshawn George would exit early from this game after a jaw injury from an elbow by Adebayo.
The Heat were challenged by the Wizards in the second half with the final period of play being a problem for Miami this season. The battle for the boards was a close one with Miami leading Washington 48-43. Turnovers as well was a close stat with Miami committing 12 compared to the Wizards 13. The Heat's largest lead on the night was 26 meanwhile the Wizards were only able to hold a three-point lead. The Heat would go on to defeat the Wizards by a final score of 106-90.
