Miami Heat vs Toronto Raptors

 Miami Heat vs Toronto Raptors

The Miami Heat enter the second half of the season being down three games under the .500 mark. They entered the All-Star break on a four-game losing streak falling to the Nets, Celtics, Thunder, and Mavericks. Two of those games came with Miami having a large lead and blowing it in the second half. Miami would start the second half of the season on the road facing the new look Toronto Raptors after acquiring some players before the trade deadline.

Tyler Herro fresh out of the break after winning the three-point contest would drop 28 points going 10-18 from the field. Andrew Wiggins had his best game in a Heat uniform so far finishing the game with 25 points. Bam Adebayo would follow putting a nice game together finishing the night with 19 points. Davion Mitchell also had his best game since being traded to Miami contributing with 16 points. Closing off the starting lineup was Kel'el Ware just scoring four points. Off the bench for Miami it was Duncan Robinson for a change leading the way with 14 points.

For the Toronto Raptors leading the way was R.J. Barrett dropping 29 points. Immanuel Quickly had a nice night finishing the game with 23 points. Raptors got the most out of the starting lineup compared to the bench with Scottie Barnes scoring 13 points. Both Orlando Robinson former Heat player and Grady Dick would finish the game with nine points. Off the bench for the Raptors was Ja'Kobe Walter contributing with eight points.

This was the fourth and final meeting of the season for the Heat and Raptors as neither team has been able to beat each other on the road. Barnes and Adebayo both had chances to win the game in regulation on the final possession but could not make it happen. Wiggins had a chance to tip the ball back in to end the game but was blocked by Barrett to force overtime.

Toronto would cut the Heat's 14 point lead which has been a problem for Miami and would take the lead in the final minute of the game. Adebayo would score six points in overtime helping the Heat get a much needed win defeating the Raptors 120-111. With the victory it would be Erik Spoelstra's 886th victory moving past Red Auerbach moving into third in NBA history for victories with one team. Only Gregg Popovich and Jerry Sloan are in front.

Up next for the Miami Heat is a road game visiting the Milwaukee Bucks.
