Miami Heat vs Utah Jazz
The seven game suspension for Jimmy Butler is coming to an end soon and there has been no valuable trade on the table for Miami. The plan is for Butler to re-join the team on the court if the team cannot find a suitable trade. Many fans are left wondering how that will all pan out if indeed Butler returns to the court wearing a Heat uniform again. Meanwhile the team came up with a victory on the road against the Golden State Warriors and continue the road trip to face the Utah Jazz. The Jazz got the best of Miami last time they faced.
Tyler Herro led the way for the Heat scoring 23 points and finishing 7/17 from the field. Jaime Jaquez Jr has stepped up big in the absence of Butler finishing the game with 20 points. Bam Adebayo followed with 15 points followed by Terry Rozier who finished with nine points. Rounding out the starting lineup was Haywood Highsmith who finished the game with just five points. The most impactful player off the bench for Miami was Nikola Jovic who finished with 11 points.
For the Utah Jazz it was a joint effort at the top of the scoresheet between Lauri Markkanen and Collin Sexton both finishing with 23 points. The rest of the Jazz lineup struggled with Walker Kessler finishing the game with nine points. Following Kessler was Isaiah Collier who finished with eight points and rounding out the lineup for Utah was Johnny Juzang finishing with five points. Former Heat player Patty Mills contributed off the bench for the Jazz with nine points.
It was not the prettiest of games from either the Heat or the Jazz with a combined 31 turnovers and both teams also shooting under 40%. The key difference would be Miami scoring most of its transition plays going 17-7 as well as making key plays in clutch situations. The Jazz were banged up entering this game without Jordan Clarkson, John Collins, Keynote George, and Brice Sensabaugh. Sensabaugh scored 61 points combined in the last two meetings against Miami.
The Heat played without Kevin Love due to personal reasons as we must remember that Love has family in the Los Angeles area who are dealing with these tragic wildfires. The Heat lost to the Jazz in the first game of Butlers suspension by a final score of 136-100. Utah were able to cut the lead to 90-88 and won a coaches challenge but did not win the jump ball allowing the Heat to build a lead. Miami goes on to win two consecutive games defeating the Jazz 97-92.
Next up for the Miami Heat is a road game visiting the Portland Trail Blazers.
