Florida Panthers vs Las Vegas Golden Knights

Florida Panthers vs Las Vegas Golden Knights

It was time for a rematch of the Stanley Cup Finals from two years ago when the Florida Panthers fell to the Las Vegas Golden Knights four games to one. The Panthers enter this game with an impressive performance against the Sharks with a season high of seven goals scored. The Golden Knights fell off the top spot of the Western Conference after falling to the Dallas Stars by a final score of 4-3. Historically the Panthers have had a tough time against the Golden Knights.

The Golden Knights found the back of the net first just five minutes into the first period with McNabb assisted by Kolesar making it 1-0 for the home team. It was another night where the Panthers looked sluggish and fatigued from having played the night before. It's difficult to enter big games like this and be fresh after playing the night before and as discussed by many the Panthers have seemed tired this season after two deep Stanley Cup playoff runs.

Once again five minutes into the period this tome being the second period it was the Golden Knights finding the back of the net. This time it was Pearson being assisted by Roy to double the Vegas lead to 2-0. Adin Hill played a huge part in keeping Florida at bay recording 32 saves on the night. Vegas entered the game having lost seven of their last nine which made them lose the top spot in the conference with Winnipeg taking it over.

In the third period just two minutes in the Panthers cut the lead in half with Lundell finding the back of the net assisted by Luostarinen to make the score 2-1. That's all the Panthers would get in this one as Eichel would double the lead once again for Vegas assisted by Barbashev making the game 3-1. The icing on the cake was Hertl scoring on a Florida empty net assisted by Roy making the game 4-1. The Golden Knights would go on to defeat the Panthers 4-1.

Up next for the Florida Panthers is a home game welcoming the Los Angeles Kings to the Amerant Bank Arena.
