The Miami FC vs Monterey Bay

The Miami FC vs Monterey Bay

The Miami FC was back at the newly named Pitbull Stadium after the global artist Armando Perez aka Pitbull on the campus of Florida International University. The club continues to be in the midst of this losing streak that they can't seem to shake off. They would welcome Monterey Bay who currently sit 10th in the Western Conference giving Miami a good chance to get points off of a team who has been struggling this season as well.

This was a desperate game for Monterey Bay even though they're sitting 10th in the table there is still a glimmer hope to score a spot in the playoffs. For Miami at this point in the season it's about playing for honor and the badge. The first 20 minutes of the match would be a sleeper with both teams feeling each other out trying to find some sort of attack.

The lonesome goal of this match would arrive in the 47th minute in favor of the home side. It was Frank Lopez taking the ball from the corner kick firing it past the Monterey keeper to give the Miami 1-0 lead. It is important to note that at this point Monterey were playing with 10 men after Ayon would pick up his second yellow of the match resulting in a red. This would give Miami the extra man advantage which would end up benefiting from.

Both Lopez and Gavilanes would continue to put pressure with shots on target that could've doubled the lead but the Monterey keeper kept things at bay. The lone goal would prove vital at the final whistle with Miami picking up the 1-0 victory. The losing streak is over and Miami finally scores some points on the table for the first time since April.

Next up for The Miami FC is a road match visiting New Mexico United at the weekend.
