Inter Miami CF vs Chicago Fire

Inter Miami CF vs Chicago Fire

The supporters shield is in the grasp of Inter Miami CF as they extend a five-point lead over FC Cincinnati  at the top of the Eastern Conference. The team despite predictions has faired very well without Lionel Messi and has gone on a three-match winning streak after the Leagues Cup. Miami would travel to Soldier Field to take on a struggling Chicago Fire. Luis Suarez has taken over the reigns in the absence of Messi with continuous scoring.

The Herons would take the lead early in the 24th minute off of a shot from Suarez that was ultimately stopped by the keeper but a deflection from Tobias Salquist saw the ball in the back of the net as an own goal making it 1-0 for the visitors. It was not a good start for the Fire who are winless in the last three matches. It was credit to Suarez once again for putting Miami in dangerous situations to get on the scoreboard.

The lead would double for Miami in the 47th minute with Diego Gomez threading a through ball to fins Suarez once again who was one of the most lethal finishers would get the job done to make it 2-0. The dagger as if it wasn't over already would arrive in the 65th minute with yet another Suarez goal assisted by Gomez once again to make it 3-0.

The home side would get on the board denying Drake Callender a second straight clean sheet with Kellyn Acosta scoring a goal off of a pass from Koutsias to make it 3-1. Miami was not done finding a goal in stoppage time with Robert Taylor getting on the scoresheet with an assist from Leonardo Campana to make it 4-1. Inter Miami CF would easily breeze by Chicago for the three points and now just edging closer to the supporters shield.

Next up for Inter Miami CF is a home match welcoming the Philadelphia Union to Chase Stadium.
