FIU vs FAU

 FIU vs FAU

For the first time in a year the Shula Bowl has returned as the FAU Owls look to make the streak seven in a row. For the FIU Panthers they're looking to beat FAU for the first time since 2016 which was the first year of the Butch Davis era. FAU departed Conference USA in 2023 joining the American Athletic Conference and did not play FIU that year. This year it was scheduled as a non conference game and would be played in Boca Raton. It's not known if they will continue the Shula Bowl rivalry each year again.

The Panthers would hit the Owls right in the mouth to start the game drawing blood first. QB Keyone Jenkins threw a 32-yard bomb to Eric Rivers to give FIU the lead. Zuberi Mobley ran for 134 yards on the night on 20 carries scoring three touchdowns. Mobley would tie the game with about over a little of a minute left in the quarter. The touchdown from Jenkins to Rivers was the only lone lead from the Panthers on the night.

In quarter two it was Mobley who started to become a pain for the FIU defense. He would run and score for 72-yards and 1-yard plus a field goal from Morgan Suarez sending the Owls into the dressing room with a 24-7 lead. The second quarter made the difference in this game and although the game is played for four quarters, just one can end the whole thing.

Jenkins would finish the game for the Panthers throwing for 281 yards going for 3 touchdowns but did have three interceptions. The Owls would outgain the Panthers in total yards with FAU having 420 and FIU having 368. FAU entered the game having a 16-4 all-time record against FIU. The game would finish with the Owls defeating the Panthers 38-20 becoming Shula Bowl champions once again.

Next up for the FIU Panthers is a home game welcoming Monmouth to Pitbull Stadium.
