The Miami FC vs Louisville City

The Miami FC vs Louisville City

The most frustrating part of this season for The Miami FC is how close they've been in a lot of these matches in picking up points. Miami has not been able to hold a lead or concede first aside from having injuries at the goalkeeper position. They're currently at four straight losses as they welcome Louisville City who's been Eastern Conference strongholds for the last couple of years. They enter this match coming off a 5-1 victory against Detroit City.

To start off this match it was the home side who looked motivated to end the streak and get on the scoreboard first. Newly extended Mikey Lawerence would've  prove his worth with earning his second goal of the season in the 18th minute. The early goal would've put Miami up 1-0 with now having to defend that lead something they've struggled with all year.

Louisville City would get on the board first in the 30th minute through a set piece. Elijah Wynder would find himself on the end of the set piece getting his head on the end of it burying it into the back of the net giving the visitors the 1-0 lead. Miami would head into the dressing room down a goal in desperate need to find help from somewhere.

Allen Gavilanes starting off the second half almost brought the equalizer but a good save from the Louisville keeper kept things equal. That moment would arrive in the 61st minute when Nico Cardona put in a cross finding Frank Lopez who would head it into the back of the net to equalize 1-1. This would make it game on putting hope into the home side and its fans.

Unfortunately for Miami it was a late stinger that would sure hurt for a while. Louisville drew a penalty late in the match at the 82nd minute. Sean Totsch would step up and bury the penalty to give the away side the 2-1 lead. The late penalty would ultimately give the away side the three points sending Miami to five straight defeats.

Next up for The Miami FC is a home match welcoming Loudoun United to FIU Stadium.
