The Miami FC vs Pittsburgh Riverhounds

The Miami FC vs Pittsburgh Riverhounds

We enter another round of USL Championship soccer with The Miami FC hitting the road to face the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Miami comes off a victory at home defeating San Antonio FC which was a thrilling match to watch with the home side fighting back to capture the points and ending the losing streak. Pittsburgh entered the match on a four-match unbeaten streak with the last match being a 2-0 victory over Detroit City.

The first opening few minutes of the match did not provide match with both teams settling down and sharing equal possession. The fireworks would begin in the 15th minute when the Riverhounds were able to fire a shot off. The shot would be deflected off a Miami player and would not result in much but the away side was put on notice. In the 16th minute Kazaiah Sterling would find the back of the net for Pittsburgh making it 1-0.

This opened the floodgates for Pittsburgh as they gained control of the match and smelled blood in the water. The Riverhounds would control possession and started to apply pressure to that Miami back line. They would have another chance in the 33rd minute but thankfully for Miami, the keeper was able to come up big and make the save.

Entering the second half, The Miami FC had only two shots accounted for as the offensive woes continue. They started to apply pressure on the match leaders to kickoff the second half but would end up having one shot to show for it. Riverhounds keeper Eric Dick had a smart play coming off the line and deflect a shot sending it wide. The match would end 1-0 in favor of Pittsburgh sending Miami back into the loss column.

Next up for The Miami FC is a home match on Mothers Day welcoming Indy Eleven to FIU Stadium.
