The Miami FC vs North Carolina FC

The Miami FC vs North Carolina FC

On a three-match losing streak The Miami FC have not been able to find much success to find themselves consistently in the winners column. They currently sit last in the Eastern Conference with 7 points as they return home to FIU Stadium after suffering a shutout defeat at the hands of the Phoenix Rising. Miami welcomes North Carolina FC who enter this match sitting 8th in the conference coming off a 1-1 draw against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

Not much going on to start this match with both teams sharing possession with not much threat at goal by either side. The most promising opportunity for Miami came from Jordan Ayimbila putting pressure on the North Carolina back line but former Miami man Paco Craig was able to intervene and ruin the opportunity keeping his teams back line organized.

Miami were very proud starting this match as one of their own a graduate from the academy Pipe Rodriguez would start in goal for the club. His first start in goal for his hometown was going well even with challenging conditions with the grass being wet because of earlier rain. Rodriguez would keep his composure throughout the first half making some needed saves.

The second half would be absolutely disastrous for Miami with North Carolina starting their charge in the 51st minute. Evan Conway would beat Miami defenders in the air off of a set piece putting the ball in the back of the net for 1-0. The 69th minute would double the lead for the visitors with Oalex Anderson finding himself on the end of a cross to make it 2-0.

The 77th minute would bring a highlight gem for North Carolina's Maldonado completing an olympico goal past Rodriguez to make it a 3-0 lead. A nutmeg in the 89th minute on Rodriguez would add another to the board for the visitors making it 4-0. That would be the final result with the visitors collecting the three points and Miami falling to a fourth straight loss.

Next up for The Miami FC is a home match welcoming Louisville City to FIU Stadium at the weekend.
