Inter Miami CF vs CF Montreal

Inter Miami CF vs CF Montreal

An incredible run of form in league play continues for Inter Miami CF as they're currently six matches unbeaten sitting first in the Eastern Conference just three points clear of FC Cincinnati. Miami would go on to visit CF Montreal who defeated them in their first meeting by a final score of 3-2 in Fort Lauderdale. Miami comes off a 6-2 thrashing of New York meanwhile Montreal enters coming off a 4-1 loss to Nashville.

The likes of having Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez on this squad for Miami has been their saving grace this season. The back line of Miami continues to concede goals early due to mistakes and puts the Herons in a hole early. In the 22nd minute it would be former Miami man Bryce Duke getting the opening goal which was well deserved making it 1-0. Jules-Anthony Vilsaint would double the lead in the 32nd minute giving the hosts the 2-0 lead.

Just 12 minutes later it would be a fantastic free kick goal and response from Miami. Matías Rojas from way out would put a free kick in the upper right corner beating the keeper to make it 2-1. It would be game on at Stade Saputo as Montreal has just given Miami a lifeline. The match would enter halftime 2-2 after Suarez would find the equalizer off of a corner.

In the second half it would be Rojas who continued to have a fantastic match this time creating a play finding a run by Benjamin Cremaschi. Cremaschi would only have the keeper and a defender to beat and would be able to fend off his defender sliding into the shot getting it past the keeper for the 3-2 lead.

Miami have been the kings of comebacks this season because of the attacking options available to them. The score would hold 3-2 giving Miami the comeback victory and three points on the road making it seven matches unbeaten. The struggles for Montreal continue as they have not been able to win a league match in three matches now.

Next up for Inter Miami CF is a midweek road match visiting rivals Orlando City.
