Miami Heat vs Washington Wizards

 Miami Heat vs Washington Wizards

It was not a happy road trip for the Miami Heat losing on back-to-back nights with one of them being a 14-point lead being blown against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Miami would return home looking to get back into the win column welcoming southeast division rivals the Washington Wizards. Newcomer Patty Mills would have a nice debut in a Heat uniform scoring 13 points.

Jimmy Butler would be the leading scorer for the Heat finishing the night with 23 points. Bam Adebayo, Duncan Robinson, and Terry Rozier would all finish the night with 16 points. Miami continues to be without Tyler Herro and Kevin Love. The Heat are trying to avoid being part of the play-in tournament for a second straight season.

For the struggling Washington Wizards who have already been eliminated from playoff contention it was Kyle Kuzma who finished the game with 32 points. Corey Kispert finished with 22 points and Deni Avdija following with 16 points. Tyus Jones would contribute with 12 points and 16 assists with the Wizards looking for their first road victory since January 29th.

Kuzma would go on for the night connecting with 12 of his 16 free throws with four rebounds and four out of Washington's 35 assists. He would go on to hit three pointers on a 22-10 run making it 110-100 down the final stretch. The Wizards would shoot 16 of 39 from beyond the arch which included 6 of 9 in the 4th quarter.

The Heat would go on a remarkable run with just two minutes left in the game that would be capped off with a layup from Caleb Martin with 32 seconds remaining. Kuzma made several defensive mistakes down the stretch including an offensive foul giving Miami the opportunity to go for the tie or win. Two missed three pointers from Robinson and Butler would see Miami fall 110-108 making it three defeats in a row.

Next up for the Miami Heat is a home game welcoming the Denver Nuggets to the Kaseya Center.
