Miami Heat vs Oklahoma City Thunder
The road trip started off bad for the Miami Heat as they were not able to get past the Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Center. Bam Adebayo has had a terrible last couple of games struggling to score the basketball and it doesn't help that Kevin Love and Tyler Herro are both out. Miami were right back on the court the next night facing the Oklahoma City Thunder who've had a fantastic season.
The lead man for the Miami Heat this time around was the rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr scoring 25 points with Jimmy Butler following the UCLA alum with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists. Bam Adebayo finished the night with just 5 points but he grabbed 10 rebounds. Another night where Adebayo struggled to score the basketball. Terry Rozier had himself another decent night finishing the game with 14 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds.
The youngster Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had one amazing night with no answer in sight for Miami trying to figure out how to stop him especially down the stretch. SGA would complete the night with 37 points with 23 of those coming in the second half. Jalen Williams would go ahead and score 15 points followed by Josh Giddey with 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Isaiah Joe helped off the bench scoring 10 points on the night.
The Heat had control of this game up as many as 14 and it looked at a certain point like Miami was going to run away with it and have the game be a blowout. SGA had something to say about that coming alive in the second half with the crowd chanting MVP in the Paycom Center. Miami struggled to find answers on both ends of the floor.
The Thunder would go ahead and give Miami back-to-back losses on the road with the 107-100 victory over the Heat. Luckily for the Heat, the 76ers lost which allows Miami to stay in the 6th position in the Eastern Conference. They are still in close range to the New York Knicks and Orlando Magic for the 5th and 4th positions in the east. Miami is going to have to start going on a run again if they want to be able to move up the ladder as the playoffs near.
Next up for the Miami Heat is a home game welcoming the Washington Wizards to the Kaseya Center on Sunday evening.
